With a name like “Best,” you certainly create a set of expectations to live up to. But the Vancouver-based, woman-founded and led design agency has done just that time after time, delivering exceptional work over the past few years and breadcrumbing us with noteworthy projects all year long.

Case in point, their packaging for Confluence Distilling demonstrates a superior level of craft. The expressive typography is paired with a thoughtful grid layout, and labels are cut along the logo, creating a distinct silhouette on the bottle. The bottles are capped with cork, adding to the timeless elegance of the packaging’s presentation. Or take a gander at their refresh for the NA beer brand Street Legal. Using Street Legal’s tagline, “It’s beer so good, it almost feels like a crime,” Best Studio designed an identity around a mischievous mascot lurking around. Wearing a wide-brimmed hat and trench coat, it’s a shadowy, cartoony figure whose eyes are enough to convey a range of expressions.

Meanwhile, the design for craft RTD cocktail brand Please! highlights the colorful nature of the libations, cleverly using it as a backdrop for the mostly neutral-colored labels. The kaleidoscopic cocktails counterbalance the simplicity of the labels, and the postage-stamp-inspired squares in the corners feature work from various illustrators.
