Mariko spent a decade working as a florist before becoming a designer, a foundation that still shapes her eye for composition, detail, and form. Summers spent in Japan growing up helped shape how she views design: intentional, playful, and often surprising. Over the past ten years, she’s led branding, retail, and packaging projects for clients ranging from top 100 to smaller independents. At Best, Mariko is one of two creative directors, helping guide the studio’s artistic vision, manage client relationships, and oversee operations.

With an Instagram account aptly named samipaints, Sami’s love for art & design was first displayed on canvas. Eventually, she would exchange her paintbrush for a calligraphy brush and lean into hand lettering and typography even inking a publishing deal in New York, for her lettering-inspired blog-turned book, Pretty Bad Words. Beyond her talents in lettering, Sami’s work in packaging design and print have been recognized by The Dieline Awards, Print Awards, Graphis, Applied Arts, and more. Over her 15 years in the industry she has worked on clients such as Fairmont Hotels, Granville Island, Shaw, and Vancouver Coastal Health. Now, as co-founder and creative director of Best, Sami leads new business development, manages client accounts, and oversees all creative.

Camille is a Senior Designer at Best with international experience in Stockholm, Berlin, and Rotterdam. With a foundation in brand experience design, she’s worked with clients across music, technology, finance, and automotive sectors, blending strategy with bold creative execution. Deeply curious by nature, she approaches projects with a research-driven mindset—exploring context, audience, and culture to shape thoughtful, strategic work. Camille leads brand and packaging projects with a focus on building brand identities.

Lia has spent more than 12 years in the industry designing for hospitality giants and global brands such as Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, and Aman Hotels. Her sharp and sophisticated aesthetic has been recognized by the industry’s top design publications, including (The) Dieline and Applied Arts. Lia joined Best Studio in 2022 as a Senior Designer, and continues to elevate everything she touches, from real estate branding to packaging design.

Frazer’s early roots in the graffiti and street art scene naturally evolved into a love of typography and led him to focus on custom lettering and typefaces. His distinct expertise allows us to create completely custom word marks from scratch and ensure that our end product is always original and uniquely inspired. Frazer’s other skills include 3D rendering, illustration, mural art, and sign painting. His past clients have included Revlon and Cadillac, and he is a frequent collaborator with the Vancouver Mural Festival, you can see Frazer’s murals dotted around the city of Vancouver.
